Usage Areas of Zamak in Industry:
Zamak is a trademark and its main components are zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper. It is used in zamak die casting, in the automotive industry, in the production of clothing, furniture, window accessories.
ABOUT ZAMAK
Zamak; Also known as Zamac. The Zamac brand was the name of the family of Zinc alloys. It is the alloying of zinc as the basic element with Al, Mg and Cu elements. Zamak alloys are part of the zinc aluminum alloy family. It is distinguished from other zinc aluminum alloys as it contains 4% Al.
The name Zamak consists of abbreviations of some metals in German. These;
Z : Zink (Zinc) ,
A : Aluminum(Aluminium) ,
MA : Magnesium (Magnesium) and
K: It consists of Kupfer (Copper).
The most common Zamak alloy is Zamak3, but Zamak2, Zamak5 and Zamak7 are in commercial use. Zamak3 and Zamak5 are used throughout the conversion casting industry.
Zamak; Due to its hardness, durability, strength, economical pourability, easy coating adhesion, its usage area is high and it is preferred.
Zamak is suitable for electroplating, chromate plating and wet paint applications.
