Yılmaz Gearbox was founded in 1958 by Mesut Yılmaz. Mesut Yılmaz was born in 1932 in Kastamonu province Abana district. Mesut Yılmaz, who left his hometown in 1948 to learn a profession, came to Istanbul by sea, since there was no land route. Mesut Yılmaz, who had the opportunity to stay in the attic of an old cafe in Istanbul, started his business life with an apprenticeship in metalworking, which he was very curious about, in Karaköy, which was formerly described as a caulking place. Mesut Yılmaz, who constantly attracts attention with foreign masters with his different and enterprising ideas, opened his first workshop in Şişhane in 1958 with his own lathe, drill and saw machine, with his ambition for success and ideals of producing the best and the strongest, together with a friend after a while.
