What is Compensation Board?
It is the panel where the necessary device, capacitor and measuring instruments are located to correct the power coefficient of the facility. Inductive loads (motors, transformers, ballasts, etc.) also draw reactive power. It has great benefits in terms of producing the reactive power in the closest place to the point where it is needed and operating the electrical system in the best conditions.
The compensation event is briefly as follows: Meeting the reactive power needs of the electrical system and the loads using certain techniques is called reactive power compensation. In other words, the process of increasing the small power coefficient of a coiled load to a larger value is called correction of the power coefficient or compensation. With the correction of the power coefficient, Cos φ is approached to 1, but it is usually increased to 0.95-0.99 because it is not economical to make it exactly 1.
Compensation Panel Features
By using special contactors and discharge coils in the compensation system, excessive compensation currents are prevented and the capacitors are placed horizontally to ensure easy cooling. If desired, harmonic filter application is also made. Heat increase is prevented by using fan-filter as required in every panel related to ventilation. Optionally, it is mounted on a modular fan.
There are shelves with sufficient features to put the capacitors. From the main distribution panel, there are busbars (large strengths) or cable entry points. A thermal magnetic switch is placed in the main distribution panel for compensation.

Safety and Security Measures We Take as APEKS:
1. Bare parts carrying voltage in the compensation panel are protected against accidental touching.
2. If the live parts are not protected, a distance of at least 1 meter is left between the bare parts and the room boundary. If there is a bare part on both sides, the width of the intermediate place is designed as 2 meters.
3. An empty passageway of at least 90 cm is left in front of the panel.
4. A death hazard sign is hung on the panel.
5. All metal parts of the panel that do not have electricity are grounded.
6. The floor of the service passage behind the panel is covered with PVC.
7. In order to prevent the intervention of unauthorized persons, the panel cage lock is kept locked at all times.
