What is Direct Debit (DDB)? It is an alternative security system to the Security Deposit and Letter of Guarantee that are required and mandatory for electricity and natural gas subscribers in connection with their subscriptions.
Are there any fees in the DBS system? While a minimum commission fee of 2% is charged to subscribers for letters of guarantee, you pay no commission in the DBS system. Furthermore, since it replaces a cash security deposit, your money stays in your pocket.
How does the DBS system work? Subscribers who open a DBS account at the Kuveyt Türk OSTİM Branch pay their bills to their account at the branch on time. The bill will be automatically collected from the account and transferred to the OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate accounts. There is no need to give any further instructions or follow up.
I have a letter of guarantee that I previously submitted to the OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate. What should I do? Your bank charges a commission for letters of guarantee. To avoid paying this commission, you need to open a DBS account at the Kuveyt Türk OSTİM Branch, retrieve the letter of guarantee from the OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate, and return it to your bank.
I paid a cash security deposit to the OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate, what should I do? The OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate will request a security deposit equal to twice the total amount of the electricity and natural gas bills. Most subscribers' cash security deposits are significantly less than this amount. OSTİM OSB will request an additional security deposit. Instead of paying this additional security deposit, subscribers can simply join the DBS system. The OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate updates security deposits according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as required by law. Therefore, previously paid security deposits do not lose value. Subscribers who join the DBS system can either receive a refund of their cash security deposit or choose to have it updated by the OSTİM OSB Regional Directorate and remain in their accounts until their subscription expires.
