During his visit, Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta was accompanied by his country's Ambassador in Ankara Fidelis Ntampaka Mironko and his bureaucrats. OSTIM Board of Directors’ Chairman and OSTIM Technical University Board of Trustees’ Chairman Orhan Aydın, OSTIM Technical University Rector Prof. Murat Yülek, OSTIM Board of Directors’ Member Behzat Zeydan, OSTIM Organized Industrial Region Director Adem Arıcı and cluster coordinators were present in the program, and the mission was informed about the region’s ecosystem, production power and commercial opportunities.
“We are in a region that is open for international relationships”
Chairman Orhan Aydın expressed their pleasure to host Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta at OSTIM and reminded that they have also hosted Ambassador Mironko previously. Aydın pointed out that OSTIM was a global brand and said, “We are in a region that is quite open for international relationships. We carried out important works with many African countries. Hopefully, we will improve our cooperations with Rwanda thanks to these opportunities.”
Orhan Aydın stated that they have developed cooperations in Africa with Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Somali, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Niger and mentioned that they have been expanding the themes of cooperation with OSTIM Technical University and OSTIM technopark. Chairman Aydın voiced his views as follows: “Until recently, we have been discussing cooperations with countries under the theme of organized industrial regions. Now, we added two more themes to these cooperations. One of them is the cooperation between technoparks, and the other is the cooperation between universities.”
“We would like to work with OSTIM Technical University”
Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Vincent Biruta expressed his pleasure of being in Turkey and visiting OSTIM. Minister Biruta emphasized the increasing relationships with Turkey and said, “We also aim to increase the cooperation between organizations.”
Biruta highlighted that Turkish companies operated in his country and said, “We would like Turkish industrial companies to be present in Rwanda. Thus, we care about OSTIM. We also attach importance to cooperations in technical training. We would also like to work with OSTIM Technical University. We hereby invite you to Rwanda for you to closely observe the common areas of operation and investment opportunities.
He took the tractor produced in OSTIM for a spin
Guest Minister was informed about the OSTIM Organized Industrial Region during his visit. OSTIM Technical University Rector Prof. Murat Yülek informed Minister Biruta about the applied training model. At the end of the program, guest Minister drove OSTIMTRAC, the tractor produced in OSTIM.
