When and how did you start in the egg industry?

We first entered this sector in 1969 with the buying and selling of eggs. In 1985, we started production with a 10,000-capacity facility we established in Çubuk district of Ankara. We suspended production twice until 2000. After 2000, we increased our production capacity to 150,000 in our current location. In our Kalecik facility (Kalecik Aktepe Village), which we commissioned in 2011, we maintain our current chick rearing capacity of 120,000 in one building and our egg-laying coop with a total capacity of 200,000 in two coops of 120,000 and 80,000 eggs respectively.

How do you market the eggs you produce?

Besides the eggs we produce ourselves, we source and market approximately four times our current production quantity (around 600,000 eggs) from contracted businesses. Our company employs 60 people. We serve national and local markets with 14 delivery vehicles. In 2007, we installed a sorting machine with a capacity of 45,000 eggs per hour. We sort our eggs before delivering them to our customers within Ankara. Furthermore, in 2008, we obtained ISO 9001 and 22000 quality certifications.

What do you look for when buying eggs from other egg producers?

Outside of our own production, we take great care to ensure that the eggs we source from contracted businesses are of the same quality as those we produce ourselves. We pay attention to egg size (sorted, properly calibrated), freshness, good shell quality, dark yolk color, and high-quality egg white.

What is your future goal as Türe Yumurta?

Our goal is to produce all the eggs we sell ourselves. To this end, with our new poultry farm built on 58 acres of land in Kalecik district of Ankara, we aim to increase our production capacity to 600,000. In this way, we aim to elevate the TÜRE brand to the highest levels with high quality standards and become a sought-after brand.
