This year, as the Ostim Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster, we participated in the 8th International Energy Congress together with our member companies Taşçı Makine, Konelsis, Kaleliler, EDH Enerji, ERL Enerji, Else Enerji, and Alfa Solar. With the depletion of fossil fuels and the increasing environmental damage they cause, renewable energy is one of the most popular fields worldwide. In many European countries, nearly half of their energy needs are met by renewable energy sources. Turkey, which imports 75% of its energy needs, is also paying increasing attention to this issue.
The fair attracted interest from many domestic and foreign companies, as well as academics, bureaucrats, and civil society organizations. On Thursday, November 5th, a session moderated by Mr. Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Organized Industrial Zone Board of Directors, discussed the importance of localization in production and offset printing applications. In our next session, our guests from European Renewable Energy Clusters shared important information about their respective clusters.
Stefano Cominelli represented the Lombardy Renewable Energy Cluster in Italy, Mariyana Hamanova represented the Bulgarian Renewable Energy Cluster, and Cedric Brüll represented the Belgian Renewable Energy Cluster. The clusters, which share roughly the same founding years and structures, have a common goal: to meet the needs and desires of their member companies with maximum benefit.
At our booth, together with our Board Members and other member companies, we discussed common goals and decided to start working now to reach a wider audience at next year's fair. Six companies operating in the energy sector came to our cluster with requests to become members. We want to prepare for new organizations much more strongly together with these companies, whose memberships we will present at our first Board meeting.
