The 10th annual TASAM Strategic Vision Awards were presented in eight categories: Statesman, Politician, Bureaucrat, Scientist, Institution, Businessman, Artist, and Journalist-Writer, all possessing a strategic vision.
The awards, which were not limited to Turkey, were also given to individuals from abroad based on friendship and cooperation with Turkey. Among the recipients from abroad this year were Qatar's Minister of Defence, Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, and Uganda's President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
TASAM President Süleyman Şensoy stated that the awards have become a tradition and a brand. Noting that the awards are given not based on a yearly concept but on criteria encompassing a lifetime achievement trajectory, Şensoy said, “To emerge from the sophisticated turbulence of our time, we have no choice but to elevate critical thinking and meritocracy.”
“I will try harder”
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, was awarded the Strategic Visionary Businessman Award. The award was presented to Aydın by Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Dalibor Jevtic.
Thanking the TASAM executives and President Süleyman Şensoy for the award, Aydın said, "From now on, I will strive even harder to live up to the expectations of this award."
