The 2024 Ordinary General Assembly of the S.S. OSTİM Industrial Zone Operating Cooperative was held in the OSTİM OSB Conference Hall.
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they had delivered the workplaces, residences, and income promised to the members during the establishment process of the Cooperative, adding, "The promise of the late Cevat Dündar has been fulfilled. May his soul rest in peace."
Emphasizing that OSTİM, after the cooperative, brought to life the Organized Industrial Zone, OSTİM Investment, OSTİM Technopark, and OSTİM Technical University, President Aydın stated, “We were able to do this much by dedicating our lives to not betraying your trust. I know that you will be respected when you say you are a member of OSTİM. The OSTİM Cooperative is behind all these efforts. May God bless those who founded it and brought it to this point. We will say that we had a technology center and a university built for future generations. We did all this here in your name and for you.”
Aydın, who invited cooperative members to transfer their memberships to their children, said, "Introduce your children to OSTİM, and let's hand over the responsibilities after us to them."
Aydın informed the cooperative members about the OSTİM Troy card, which was launched in cooperation with Türkiye Halkbankası and OSTİM, and advised the cooperative members to also obtain an OSTİM Troy card.
The activity report, income and expenditure accounts, and audit report were discussed and unanimously approved at the General Assembly.
Who is Cevat Dündar?
Believing that a vital condition for the development and growth of the country's industry and small businesses was to create a production environment suitable for competition and production conditions for industrialists, the late Cevat Dündar and the other founders established the S.S. OSTİM Industrial Zone Operating Cooperative based on this need.
Cevat Dündar, the founding chairman, and his project partners, who envisioned OSTİM as a major center of Turkish industry that would increase the productivity of small industrialists and leverage the strength and synergy of unity, took the first step by purchasing a 3 million square meter area outside the city with great effort and an entrepreneurial spirit.
With unwavering faith and determination, the founders, thanks to their foresight, brought this initiative, which could be considered a dream given the conditions of the time, to the construction phase in 1975 after a 7-year struggle, laying the foundations of today's SME city, OSTİM. From those years onwards, under the leadership of Turan Çiğdem and the Board of Directors, OSTİM rapidly continued its construction, largely completing its building structure in the 1980s. Shareholders moved into their workshops, and the sounds of looms heralded a "Producing Turkey."
