ESO President Celalettin Kesikbaş, Vice President Fatih Düş, and Board Member Gürhan Albayrak visited OSTİM.
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın briefed the ESO management on sectoral clustering efforts.
Aydın, drawing attention to the importance of clusters in domestic and national production, said, “We localized nearly 200 parts for the Ankara Metro. We then started working on whether a domestic contribution requirement would be included in the next metro tender. With the inclusion of a 51% domestic requirement in the Ankara metro tender, an awareness regarding rail systems was created in Turkey.”
"We need to create a private sector initiative"
ESO President Celalettin Kesikbaş stated that domestic and national production is valuable. He noted that they emphasize domestic production at every opportunity, and drawing attention to the work done in OSTİM, he said, "We greatly appreciate OSTİM. You are doing excellent work."
Stating that there are many companies in the rail systems sector in Eskişehir, Chairman Kesikbaş suggested, "We should create a regional structure, including representatives from the chambers of industry of Eskişehir, Ankara, and Bursa, to establish a private sector initiative related to rail systems."
Following the meeting, Orhan Aydın gave the ESO management a presentation on the clusters and projects operating in OSTİM.
