OSTİM was represented at the event, which included 65 cluster organizations from Europe, by Dr. İlhami Pektaş, Coordinator of the Anatolian Rail Vehicles Cluster (ARUS); Esma Akyüz, International Project Manager of the Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster (İŞİM); Dr. Kayhan Olanca, Coordinator of the Rubber Technologies Cluster; and Pınar Yalman Akcengiz, Coordinator of the Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster (OSTİM ENERJİK).

On the first day of the program, held on November 22-23, 2018, seminars were organized with key figures from the European Commission, featuring sessions on ‘Cluster Policy Development’ and ‘Sharing Successful Practices’. Another session discussed ‘International Cluster Collaborations’. Participants received detailed information on cluster coordination in a training session on the Cluster Common Resources Council and Smart Specialization. At the end of the day, presentations were given by 65 clusters from the Balkans and Europe, outlining their clusters and expectations from the program.

The second day of the program began with bilateral business meetings. OSTİM clusters reached agreements to establish significant collaborations during these meetings. These meetings, which represent the first steps towards international cooperation, resulted in cluster managers sharing valuable experiences with each other. One of the most important outcomes of the program was the agreement between the parties to sign a memorandum of understanding.

Following the meetings, a site visit was conducted to the production facilities. During the inspections at Feroimpex, a company producing spare parts for the automotive sector in Croatia, discussions were held on developing trade channels with Turkish companies.
