Four projects selected by OSTİM according to World Bank standards, which will increase the international competitiveness of its members through green and digital transformation, have been approved by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and included in the investment program. In the program, where 34 projects were accepted across Turkey, OSTİM became the leading Organized Industrial Zone, receiving approximately 10% of the total project budget with its 4 approved projects.

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate has added new projects to those it has been developing and continuing to increase the international competitiveness of its members. OSTİM, which applied to the World Bank-funded Turkey Organized Industrial Zones Project with 7 projects aimed at contributing to the green and digital transformation processes of its members and towards Turkey's net-zero emissions target of 2053, had 4 of its projects approved by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and included in the investment program. The applications for the other 3 projects were accepted to be evaluated in the next investment period.

Within the scope of the $300 million agreement signed between the World Bank and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey on June 26, 2021, the activities of Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) whose projects have been accepted will be supported through loans. The projects will be financed with a 3% interest rate, with a total repayment period of 13 years, including a 3-year grace period.

10% of the total project budget

OSTİM stands out as the Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) with the most approved projects among Turkish OSBs, with 4 projects. This result indicates that approximately 10% of the total project budget appears to be allocated to OSTİM OSB projects.

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) has based its strategy on the principle of green and digital transformation, aiming to create a network where natural resources and total useful business potential are not wasted, but are continuously and maximally transformed into added value within a holistic and circular flow. Within the framework of these principles, OSTİM OSB aims to bring its members together in an integrated cycle that is most suitable to nature for maximum sustainable and renewable resource management.

Projects Included in the Investment Program

  • Ground-Type Solar Power Plant Project

The project involves the installation of a 2 MW solar power plant operating with photovoltaic panels within the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone. The plant is expected to generate an average of 3,762,000 kWh of clean and renewable energy annually.

  • Street Lighting Conversion to LED Technology Project

The street lighting within the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone will be converted to LED technology. Expected annual energy savings: 12.75 MW.

  • Fiber Fiber Communication Infrastructure Between Transformers

A fiber optic communication infrastructure will be established within the boundaries of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone to enable fast and real-time monitoring of data from transformers and distribution centers. The one-year reduction in start-up costs for OSTİM industrialists due to power outages is 759,700 TL. The one-year reduction in value-added loss for OSTİM industrialists due to power outages is 614,000 TL.

  • Integrated Factory (Single Factory) Project

Optimization software, artificial intelligence applications that feed the software, and Internet of Things hardware will be implemented to enable industrialists within the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone to produce on a common ground, like an integrated organism and a unified manufacturing facility, by using their resources in the most sustainable way.

Total sustainability added value that the projects will provide:

  • Over 15,000,000 kWh of electricity will be saved annually.

  • Approximately 11,000 tons of carbon emissions will be prevented annually.

  • The equivalent annual carbon sequestration area of forest will be 12,815 acres.

  • Energy equivalent to the electricity produced by 6,000 tons of coal will be saved annually.

  • Electricity equivalent to 5 million liters of gasoline will be saved annually.
