Andrei V. Savinykh, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Ankara, and Ruslan Kizilevich, Commercial Attaché of the Embassy, visited OSTİM. The delegation had the opportunity to get to know the sectors in the region closely and received information about projects, particularly regarding clustering.
Ambassador Savinykh stated that Belarusian industry is strong in metalworking and machinery, and that they have made significant progress in the production of harvesting machinery. Emphasizing their strength in the production of construction equipment, Savinykh said, "However, you produce things that we cannot; we can cooperate in this area."
Detailing investment opportunities in Belarus, the Belarusian diplomat emphasized that investors have a 15% price advantage in public tenders, continuing: “Establishing a business in Belarus opens the doors to the Eurasian market with its 200 million inhabitants. Companies can manufacture their finished products and machinery in Belarus and sell them to the Eurasian market. They can also sell products to Russia without being subject to customs duties.”
Türkiye is the fifth largest country in Belarus.
Andrei V. Savinykh, also mentioning the strong interest of German and Chinese companies in his country, pointed out that Turkish companies supply global companies and reiterated his offer of cooperation. Stating that they could not implement important business projects due to insufficient population, Andrei V. Savinykh said, “We are open to cooperation with Turkish companies in machinery, medical devices, measurement systems and many other sectors. We can also carry out technology transfer.”
Trade Counselor Ruslan Kizilevich also emphasized that Turkey is the fifth largest investor country in Belarus. Stating that there would be no shortage of qualified human resources for investments in his country, Ruslan Kizilevich pointed to China's Northern Silk Road Project. He noted that the project would pass through Belarus after Russia and extend to Germany, which would further increase the advantages for his country.
