As a university of industry, OSTİM Technical University prepares its students for professional life through its workplace experience model, and continues to offer new experience opportunities to its students through public and industry collaborations.
In collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, OSTİM Technical University has added a J79 Turbo Jet Engine and training materials to its Engine Laboratory.
A promotional program was organized for the jet engine and training materials, which have been added to the laboratory inventory as important educational materials. During the program, a plaque of appreciation was presented by OSTİM OSB Board Chairman and OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın and OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek to Şule Yüksel Akbaş and Mehmet Erdal Akbal, NATO Section Chiefs of the Ankara Construction and Real Estate Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Defence, for their support throughout the entire process leading up to the delivery of the jet engine to OSTİM Technical University.
OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın thanked all the officials who contributed to the process of donating the jet engine to OSTİM Technical University, especially the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey, Yaşar Güler.
Pointing out that OSTİM Technical University is the institution best suited to utilize the jet engine, President Aydın stated, “Hopefully, we will do great things for our country. We all have very important responsibilities, especially our professors. Thank God, we have organizations striving to do this; TEI is working to produce these engines. We have a responsibility to be a school that produces a new version of this. Since we have acquired this engine, we must do what is necessary and discover how to produce it. We must rediscover the knowledge and technology here and produce these engines that our country needs; we will. This is befitting of OSTİM Technical University. I wish this engine to be beneficial to our university.”
The program was attended by Sıtkı Öztuna, Deputy Chairman of the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Board of Directors and Member of the OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees; Adem Arıcı, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager; Hamza Akca, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone External Relations Coordinator; and faculty members from OSTİM Technical University.
