National Ecosystem Workshops in Communication Continue

The Communication Technologies Cluster (HTK) is continuing its efforts at full speed to develop domestic and national products for all areas of communication, including software, hardware, infrastructure, and services, especially for 5G and beyond. Operating under the leadership of OSTİM to prevent dependence on foreign sources in communication technologies, HTK continued its workshops on developing domestic and national products with operators, this time with Türk Telekom.

The HTK National Ecosystem Workshop, hosted by Türk Telekom, was attended by OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın, Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) Deputy Chairman Beytullah Kuşçu, Türk Telekom Network Deputy General Manager Zafer Orhan, Türk Telekom Information Technologies Deputy General Manager Gökhan Evren, HTK Board Chairman and Ulak Haberleşme A.Ş. General Manager Dr. Ruşen Kömürcü, and HTK members.

“A national duty”

Zafer Orhan, Deputy General Manager of Türk Telekom Network, provided information about their work with HTK members. He emphasized that they are an operator that not only uses technology but also produces it, stating, “We came first in the patent category in 2024. We see every effort to reduce external dependence for 5G and beyond as a national duty.”

HTK Chairman Dr. Ruşen Kömürcü pointed out that many companies within the cluster possess technologies for 5G and beyond. Emphasizing the importance of national solutions in Turkey's digital infrastructure, Kömürcü stated, "I believe there are huge opportunities for domestic and national companies in post-5G technologies."

Both domestically produced and national products will be used in 5G.

BTK Deputy Chairman Beytullah Kuşçu stated that they are working on using both domestic and national communication products for the 5G tender. Kuşçu emphasized that steps are being taken towards the nationalization of the networks.

HTK Secretary General Güneri Dürmüş provided information about the cluster's activities. Dürmüş explained the expectations of cluster members from operators and the possibilities for cooperation.

HTK members, who held bilateral business meetings with Türk Telekom supply managers, had the opportunity to present their products and services to Türk Telekom officials.
