A Procurement Workshop was organized by the OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA). Roketsan officials and cluster members came together at the workshop, which also included employees from the company's procurement, quality, and design departments.
OSSA Chairman Mithat Ertuğ, in his opening speech, said, "I hope that this workshop will be a platform where our SMEs and Roketsan can create new areas and opportunities."
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) Chairman Orhan Aydın spoke about OSTİM's contributions to the industrialization of Ankara and Türkiye. "This area, where small businesses are located, is very valuable to us," said Chairman Aydın, pointing out that many companies operating in Ankara's OSBs started in OSTİM. He emphasized the importance of Roketsan's interest in OSTİM. Stating their readiness to support Roketsan, Aydın said, "As OSTİM OSB, I want to declare that we are opening our hearts and all our resources to Roketsan."
Roketsan General Manager Selçuk Yaşar emphasized that OSTİM is very important for them and that they aim to continue such collaborations in the coming years.
Stating that the defense industry is not an easy sector, that it consists of the highest and most unique technologies, and that they need small partners to support them in high-tech activities involving precision manufacturing, Yaşar said that in this sense, OSSA is the "tip of the spear" and the "top of the pyramid" in Turkey.
Yaşar stated that they expect Roketsan to be among the world's top 100 defense industry companies in 2017.
