OSTİM Completes LED Conversion

As part of a significant step towards achieving zero carbon emissions, the project involved replacing traditional sodium vapor streetlights within the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone with LED technology fixtures. The project, which aimed to create an environmentally friendly and efficient electrical lighting system, has provided a more efficient, economical, and high-quality lighting environment in the streets of OSTİM.

The replacement of all lighting fixtures in the area has been completed. Traditional 250W fixtures have been replaced with 100W LED fixtures. This is expected to result in a total annual saving of 500,000 kWh. The conversion is also equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 10,000 mature trees in a year, preventing 280 tons of carbon emissions annually. With this LED conversion, OSTİM has taken another step closer to its carbon-zero goals.

In addition to its environmental contributions, the project will also provide significant economic benefits. The extra lifespan gained per street light is estimated at 60,000 hours.
