The OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone's 2024 Ordinary General Assembly Meeting was held in the OSTİM OSB Conference Hall.
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Orhan Aydın, drawing attention to the high concentration of OSTİM-based companies in Ankara's Organized Industrial Zones, said, "OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone is an important institution for Ankara. There are 13 Organized Industrial Zones in Ankara. OSTİM has played a significant role in Ankara's industrialization, and we are proud of that."
At the opening of the meeting, chaired by OSTİM OSB Deputy Chairman Sıtkı Öztuna and with Gül 86 Cooperative President Evren Bulut as a member of the Board of Directors, OSTİM OSB Chairman Orhan Aydın addressed the delegates. Aydın emphasized the contribution of the region's ecosystem to the development of Ankara and the country's industry.
“We see a part of OSTİM in the air, on land, and at sea.”
Aydın stated that the average export rate for medium and high-tech products in Turkey is 3 percent, while the average for Ankara is 23 percent, and reminded everyone of OSTİM's role in this regard. Aydın said, "When we visit our companies in OSTİM, we see very important work. In everything that walks, swims, or flies in the air, on land, or at sea, we see a part of OSTİM in that vehicle or machine. We are always proud of these companies, and as the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, we believe that serving them is a sacred duty."
Aydın noted that they support OSTİM companies in international competition and shared the following views: “These companies are currently competing with many companies around the world. There is fierce competition, change, transformation, and a technological race in the world. Therefore, any contribution made to our companies is very meaningful. For example, we try to provide electricity and natural gas to our companies in OSTİM at a lower price. We follow almost all fairs and events so that they can promote their products worldwide and compete with other companies in the world. Through clusters, we are taking our companies to every corner of the world.”
Pointing to the presence of nearly 200 R&D and product development companies in Ostim Technopark, Mayor Aydın stated, “There are many structures in OSTİM, not just the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone. It's good that these exist. OSTİM Technical University is very valuable for OSTİM. The recognition of OSTİM Technical University and its contribution to OSTİM have exceeded our expectations. Our university has students from 83 countries around the world. Our students act as a bridge in developing the businesses of our companies in their respective countries.”
Aydın emphasized that OSTİM, as an ecosystem, is also in demand from abroad, and stated that the Uzbek-Turkish Organized Industrial Zone was established in Uzbekistan by OSTİM.
“The paradigm-shifting projects are being carried out in OSTİM”
Drawing attention to the uncertainties and wars in the world, President Aydın stated, “We believe that the work done in OSTİM is very important in terms of solving these issues. It is also a very important task for us that paradigm-shifting projects are carried out in OSTİM. Many key components of our defense industry are manufactured here. Many technology-producing companies in the sector continue their operations in our region.”
“OSTİM continues to increase its appeal”
Aydın, pointing out that many companies from outside Ankara also operate in OSTİM, said, “We are aware that our region continues to increase its attractiveness. Companies from Gaziantep and Istanbul are coming to OSTİM. They say that they prefer to come here because they think that a synergy has been created in OSTİM, that there is a business environment, and that it is perceived positively in Turkey and the world.”
Orhan Aydın thanked the general assembly delegates, the Board of Directors, the Regional Manager, and the employees for their contributions to the work at OSTİM, concluding his speech with the words, "Turkey for the good of the world, OSTİM for the good of Turkey."
At the General Assembly, where the 2024 Activity Report and the 2025 Work Program were presented by OSTİM OSB Regional Manager Adem Arıcı; the Activity Report, work plan, income and expenditure accounts, and the Audit Committee Report were discussed and unanimously approved.
