OSTİM Did Not Stop Production

The Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) is implementing a three-day electricity rationing/interruption program in Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) across the country between January 24-28, 2022. OSTİM OSB, by implementing a regional and 24-hour rationing/interruption plan, maintained its electricity supply within the quotas set by TEİAŞ, preventing a complete disruption of production.

All Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) across the country were affected by the electricity rationing/interruption program implemented by TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) to balance electricity supply and demand. Many OSBs had to suspend production for 3 full days, totaling 72 hours.

OSTİM was included in the electricity rationing/interruption program implemented by TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation). The OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate is managing the process from the very beginning with a regional and 24-hour rationing/interruption plan prepared in consultation with the industrialists.

In OSTİM, as part of regional planning, the power cuts/interruptions were only implemented between 08:00 and 18:00. Critical points providing public services were not included in the power cut/interruption program.

The entire outage/disruption will last 15 hours.

The daily electricity consumption quota allocated to OSTİM by TEİAŞ was distributed among subscribers through regional and 24-hour planning, preventing a complete halt in production.

As part of the electricity outage schedule, half of the industrialists in OSTİM will be affected by the outage between 08:00 and 18:00 on Monday, January 24, 2022, and between 08:00 and 13:00 on Friday, January 28, 2022, while they can continue their production without interruption on other days and times.

The other half of the industrialists in OSTİM will also be affected by the power outage between 08:00 and 18:00 on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, and between 13:00 and 18:00 on Friday, January 28. However, they will be able to continue their production without interruption on other days and times.

While many Organized Industrial Zones across Türkiye were affected by the 3-day power outage for 72 hours, the total outage duration in OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone will not exceed 15 hours over the 3 days.

The program is managed from the OSTİM SCADA Center.

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate manages the regional power outage program from the OSTİM SCADA Center. Technical teams monitor the region's electricity consumption 24/7 from the center, working intensively to ensure that production by industrialists remains within the quota defined by TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation).

Many industrial zone managers are seeking information from OSTİM regarding the implemented regional power cut program.

“Our priority is production”

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı stated that from the moment they were informed by TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) about the power outage program, they have been working intensively to ensure that OSTİM industrialists complete the power outage process with the least possible impact.

Arıcı stated that the daily electricity quota defined by TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) was distributed fairly to the region, and added: “OSTİM is one of the most important production regions of Ankara and Turkey. Within the scope of the program we implemented, we prevented our industrialists from completely stopping their production. Our industrialists can continue their production except for the days and hours we have determined. Our priority is production; we have mobilized all our resources to enable our industrialists to continue their production, and we have activated regional reduction/interruption planning. During this process, we are constantly informing our industrialists about using their energy efficiently and economically. We thank our industrialists for their sensitivity.”
