An Academic Orientation Program for 2022-2023 was organized for academics who started their duties at OSTİM Technical University. The opening meeting of the program was attended by Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Board of Directors and Chairman of the OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, Rector of OSTİM Technical University; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ünsal Sığrı and Prof. Dr. Serdar Müldür; Gülnaz Karaosmanoğlu, Director of the OSTİM Foundation; and academics.
“We have made you partners in our goals”
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Board of Directors and Chairman of the OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees, recounted the development of OSTİM, which joined the Turkish industry as a cooperative, from its beginnings to the present day. Aydın stated, "Starting as a cooperative in 1967, we have created an organization unlike any other in Turkey."
Aydın continued: “This is a different kind of university from others. As OSTİM, we have collaborations with all 22 universities in Ankara, and partnerships with 6 universities in Ostim Technopark. We are an organization enthusiastic about bringing our universities closer to industry and collaborating with them. While the design of OSTİM Technical University is specific to this region, it is not limited to Ankara; we also have a structure that feels responsible for our wider geographical area. The university is very valuable to us. In this way, we are achieving the goal we set for our Foundation.”
The most important feature of this place is that it doesn't belong to any individual or company. It's entirely public property, built with the sweat and labor of the people, with their production and payments. It has been entrusted to us. We have made you partners in our goals to carry this trust together. We will carry this trust together. We have taken our students, parents, companies, the country, and the world as a trust, and we have embarked on this journey with you to leave a better world, a better Turkey, and a better OSTİM for future generations. We sincerely thank all our academics and employees who have contributed to this until today. OSTİM Technical University has found more acceptance in society and has made more progress than we anticipated. I wish the new term to be auspicious. I welcome the academics who have joined us.”

OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek stated that they strive to provide all faculty members with the best possible infrastructure and resources in every field.
Yülek stated that 99% of the world's universities can currently be defined as second-generation universities, and added: “There are some universities in the world that have set the goal of becoming third-generation universities and are working towards that goal. We can say that we are more advantageous because we are trying to establish a third-generation university from scratch here. I congratulate all our new colleagues who have joined our family.”
Today, the qualities and characteristics expected of our youth have changed due to scientific and technological advancements. The world now demands young people who are productive, inquisitive, seek new answers, are innovative, entrepreneurial, and think differently, but who are also self-confident and blend humility with self-assurance. The world awaits different kinds of young people. As OSTİM Technical University, we are aware of this constantly changing world. OSTİM Technical University is one of the youngest universities in Turkey since its establishment. The advantage of being young is that we don't accept conventional norms; we strive to create our own frameworks, our own paths, and our own directions. Our energy in this area stems from our self-confidence. I welcome you all to the OSTİM Technical University family.”

OSTİM Foundation Director Gülnaz Karaosmanoğlu shared information about the OSTİM brand. Karaosmanoğlu said, “The brand we represent is not the brand of a large capital group. It is the brand of a system where small capitals come together to achieve great things. OSTİM is the hardworking child of Ankara's industry. You can reach 7 major sectors and their sub-sectors with a single touch. Our forward-looking side and our greatest tool that sees the future and will guide us is the university.”
At the ceremony, awards were presented to academics working in the faculties who had achieved an academic performance score above 1,000 points and demonstrated outstanding success in five key areas: publications, education, administrative affairs, promotion, and projects.
