7 organizations qualified to receive support.

TÜBİTAK announced the results of the 1512 Technopreneurship Capital Support Program, which aims to encourage qualified entrepreneurship and create innovative, technologically advanced start-up companies with international competitiveness. The program supports entrepreneurs in transforming their technology and innovation-focused business ideas into ventures with high potential for creating added value and qualified employment, from the idea stage to market entry. Following the evaluation of 25 applications submitted during the call for proposals, which ran from June 1st to June 30th, 2016, 7 organizations were deemed eligible for support.

Ostim Technopark, in collaboration with Atlım University and Başkent University, applied to the Phase 1 Implementing Organization Call of the 1601-TÜBİTAK Support Program for Increasing Capacity in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which was launched in 2016. Ostim Technopark, Turkey's first thematic technopark, became the 6th institution in Ankara and one of the 20 institutions nationwide whose application was accepted for the 1512 Technopreneurship Capital Support Program.

Within the scope of the program, entrepreneurs will receive entrepreneurship training, and mentors with industry experience will provide support to entrepreneurs on technical, commercial, and administrative issues. The program consists of three stages aimed at transforming innovative business ideas into commercial products/processes/services. Entrepreneurs can proceed to the next stage by completing each stage sequentially and, if deemed suitable by TÜBİTAK, moving on to the next stage.

According to a statement from TÜBİTAK, the supported organizations will be among the Implementing Organizations that will conduct the Phase 1 processes in the BiGG call, which will be launched in the first months of 2017. Within the scope of the BiGG call, Implementing Organizations will collect and evaluate business idea applications from prospective entrepreneurs, place suitable business ideas into pre-incubation, put them through business idea validation processes, and support entrepreneurs in preparing high-quality business plans.

What awaits entrepreneurs in Phase 1?

Phase 1 of the 1512 Program begins with entrepreneurs submitting their business ideas to implementing organizations. These organizations evaluate the business ideas and provide entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, incubation, and other services for ideas with a high probability of developing into a successful business plan. During the process of transforming the business idea into a business plan, work is carried out to validate the idea from a commercial perspective. The first phase is completed by the business plan application deadline specified in the call for technopreneurship capital support.
