Ostim Technopark's Mushroom Cultivation and Technology Commercialization Center Project has been awarded funding under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II) Competitiveness and Innovation Sector Operational Program (RYSOP), which is financed by the European Union (EU) budget under the coordination of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. The project will provide support to entrepreneurs and SMEs.
The Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, General Directorate of EU and Foreign Relations, Department of EU Financial Programmes, launched a project proposal call on April 6, 2017, with a budget of €405 million, within the scope of the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance II (IPA II) Competitiveness and Innovation Sector Operational Programme (RYSOP) 2014-2020 implementation phase, funded by the EU budget.
One of 23 Projects Selected
The Mushroom Cultivation and Technology Commercialization Center Project, submitted by Ostim Technopark Technology Development Zone Management Inc. and with Atılım University, Çankaya University, and Başkent University as partners, was selected among the 23 projects that received support.
Designed as a shared workshop, the Mushroom Cultivation and Commercialization Center will provide various training and consultancy services, as well as alternative machinery and offices, to technology-oriented entrepreneurs/firms established or planned to be established in order to provide applied research, prototype production, and mass production for Ankara and Turkey, especially the OSTİM Region.
Commercialization-Oriented Support
The project will also advance university-industry collaboration, develop business plans, and provide entrepreneurs and firms with training, consultancy, mentoring, and financial support in the commercialization phases of developing new products, services, and processes.
To increase Turkey's production capacity, the procurement components to be purchased were classified into 7 categories. The project, planned to be completed by the last quarter of 2022, offers 6 categories of technical assistance activities to support entrepreneurs and SMEs in areas such as technology transfer and commercialization.
Capacity will be built for modeling workshops
Activity 2.2. Technology Transfer and Commercialization (TTT), defined within the scope of the call, focuses on the market launch phase of the innovation process with technology transfer offices (TTOs), R&D centers, incubators and accelerators, and is designed to accelerate and develop commercialization activities.
The project, which is aligned with section 2.2.1 Technology Transfer and Commercialization Competency Development Support within the scope of TTT activities, aims to accelerate technology transfer and commercialization by building capacity in areas such as rapid product design, simulation and modeling workshops, and product validation.
