OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate supports the competitiveness of businesses operating in the region through infrastructure investments. Electricity infrastructure investments are rapidly continuing in the region to ensure the continuity of energy supply security for manufacturing facilities.
With the work carried out by the OSTİM OSB Energy Directorate, the open switchgear facilities in the transformer and distribution centers that make up the high-voltage infrastructure are being renewed with modular cells.
Modular switchgear are air-insulated, metal-enclosed units that control the input and output of high-voltage distribution centers, ensuring that power is switched on and off in accordance with operational specifications and safety standards for personnel.
The importance of electricity power quality has become apparent.
Turgut Tunç, Energy Manager of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, explained the advantages of modular cells in the use of transformers and distribution centers. Tunç said, "With all the equipment used inside the cell, such as disconnectors, circuit breakers, meters, quality recorders, relays, current and voltage transformers, etc., the system can be monitored and controlled remotely."
Turgut Tunç emphasized that with the increase in production in recent years, the demand for electrical energy has also increased, and stated, "Changes in load characteristics and the inclusion of renewable energy sources in the electricity grids have revealed the importance of the concept of electrical power quality."
Infrastructure investments continue unabated.
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı stated that with the infrastructure investment plans they are implementing, all open switchgear facilities in transformer and distribution centers in the region will be renewed with modular cells.
Emphasizing the importance of energy supply security for competitive and sustainable production, Arıcı stated that OSTİM will continue its infrastructure investments without slowing down to provide uninterrupted energy in the power and quality demanded by its members.
With the electrical infrastructure renovation works, the electrical quality of each transformer substation can be monitored and recorded. In addition, areas will be opened up to meet the high-voltage connection demands for private transformer installations.
Infrastructure renovation works are carried out outside of working days and hours, without requiring companies to halt production.
With this plan, infrastructure upgrade costs are covered without being passed on to subscribers.
Within the scope of the work program, the renovation of open switchgear facilities in 51 transformer and distribution centers in the region will be completed in 3 years.
