Speaking at the OSTİM Technical University 2023-2024 Academic Opening Ceremony, Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Board of Directors and Chairman of the OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees, noted that OSTİM, which is over half a century old, has left its mark on the last 50 years of Turkey. Pointing out that OSTİM Technical University is OSTİM's signature in Turkey's new century, Aydın said, "I believe that OSTİM will contribute greatly to our country in our new century. We say, 'Turkey for the good of the world, OSTİM for the good of Turkey.' The world is waiting for us."
OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, reminding that they are a university founded by industrialists, stated, “Industry is the embodiment of science and technology. Without industry, knowledge would have no effect on human life. At our university, we conduct academic education together with social, cultural, and universal values.”
The opening lecture of the academic year was given by Hüseyin Serdar Yıldırım, the Founding President of the Turkish Space Agency. Providing information on the development of the space industry ecosystem, Yıldırım gave the following message to the students: “Without space, no global business can be done anymore. Whatever you study, you need to connect your field with space. All disciplines exist in space. A period of space production is coming. Production is beginning in space. The estimated economic size of space production is 1 trillion dollars. Those who do not invest in space today will be much poorer in the future.”
