Appointed as the Rector of OSTİM Technical University pursuant to Article 13 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and Articles 2, 3, and 7 of the Presidential Decree, Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek has numerous publications both domestically and internationally on macroeconomics, finance, and financial and economic development.

Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, who has lectured at prestigious universities around the world and held positions in Turkey and international organizations, is known in recent years for his research on industrial policies, the effects of public procurement policies on technological development, and science, industry, and innovation policies.

Qualified human resources will be trained for the future of Turkey.

In a message on the OSTİM Technical University website, Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek stated that the fundamental goal of OSTİM Technical University, which aims to be the "University of Industry," is to train graduates who transform science and technology into practical applications. He expressed that they will achieve this goal through strong collaboration with the business world, industrialists, and the public sector, all of which are central to their work. Yülek shared the following views:

“By supporting these advantages we possess with an international standard education, research and application infrastructure and equipment, we aim to play an active role in the industrial and economic sectors we prioritize, especially in innovative technologies and entrepreneurship models.”

Our university has established as its principle the goal of training qualified human resources for the future of Turkey by educating graduates who possess the knowledge and skills required by the competitive business world, have a broad vision, are original, inquisitive, seek answers, learn on the job, design, do, bring to life, are innovative, creative, entrepreneurial, work to acquire professional competence, have high cultural awareness, can work in teams, manage and lead, have internalized human values, and are beneficial to society.

Third-generation university

OSTİM Technical University is a third-generation university. While second-generation universities, influenced by the division of labor revolution that occurred after the 18th century, focused more on scientific research and education, the transformation of developed knowledge into application and production was left to companies. This situation led to a decrease in cooperation between these two and an increase in the distance between them. The third-generation, or entrepreneurial university, is an approach that removes these rigid walls for the benefit of society, placing the university at the center of the production and innovation process together with companies.

“We will work for the development of our region and our country”

"In the era we live in, university-industry collaboration is essential. Increasing our capacity for patent, utility model, industrial design, and trademark development, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and aiming for economic contribution and commercialization form the core of our educational activities. With an entrepreneurial university approach, we will conduct our scientific and technological studies in coordination with industry to add value to the national economy. By producing original projects and solutions, and by developing the necessary mechanisms to enable the application and commercialization of knowledge generated by our strong academic staff, we will work for the development of our region and country, and strive to become one of the leading universities in our field worldwide. I wish success to our students, academic and administrative staff. May our path be clear."
