Rwandan Minister Invites Industrialists to His Country

Dr. Vincent Biruta, the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who came to Turkey for a series of meetings, visited OSTİM. Biruta emphasized the importance of industrial firms in the economic relations between the two countries. The Rwandan Minister stated, “We want Turkish industrial firms to be present in Rwanda. For this reason, we value OSTİM. We also attach importance to cooperation in technical education. We would like to work with OSTİM Technical University as well.”

During the visit, Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta was accompanied by his country's Ambassador to Ankara, Fidelis Ntampaka Mironko, and other bureaucrats. In a program attended by OSTİM Board Chairman and OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın; OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek; OSTİM Board Member Behzat Zeydan; OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı; and cluster coordinators, the delegation was given information about the region's ecosystem, production capacity, and commercial opportunities.

“We are a region open to international relations”

Chairman Orhan Aydın expressed his pleasure at seeing Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta in OSTİM, recalling that they had previously hosted Ambassador Mironko in the region. Pointing out that OSTİM is a global brand, Aydın said, “We are a region very open to international relations. We have had significant collaborations with many African countries. Hopefully, we will develop our cooperation with Rwanda through these opportunities.”

Orhan Aydın noted that they have developed collaborations with Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Somalia, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Niger across Africa, and that they have also expanded their collaboration areas with OSTİM Technical University and OSTİM Technopark. President Aydın stated, “Until recently, we were discussing collaborations with countries under the heading of organized industrial zones. Now, two more areas have been added to these collaborations. One is collaboration between technoparks, and the other is collaboration between universities.”

Dr. Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, expressed his pleasure at being in Turkey and visiting OSTİM. Noting the increasing relations between Turkey and Rwanda, Minister Biruta stated, "We aim to increase cooperation between institutions as well."

Biruta, emphasizing that Turkish companies are operating in his country, stated, “We want Turkish companies in the industrial sector to be present in Rwanda. For this reason, we value OSTİM. We also attach importance to technical education. We would like to work with OSTİM Technical University. We invite you to Rwanda so you can see the areas of common activity and investment opportunities more closely.”

He took a tour in a tractor produced in OSTİM.

During the visit, the visiting Minister was briefed on the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone. OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek informed Minister Biruta about the applied education model. At the end of the program, the visiting Minister drove the OSTİMTRAC tractor, which is manufactured in OSTİM.
