OSTİM Technical University's institutes, faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Vocational School have brought over 750 new talents into the business world.
Graduates were sent off to the future with an Entrepreneurship Certificate along with their diplomas. During the ceremony, which also incorporated Ahilik traditions, graduates donned traditional sashes, while Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek danced the Seğmen dance with the students.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) President Gürsel Baran, BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, and Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Security Special Operations Dr. Veysel Murat Tuğrul.
“Spread kindness, create value”
OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek stated that they guide students on their journey to shaping the future, possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, drawing inspiration from ancient culture, and gaining the self-confidence to become a virtuous individual with universal values. Yülek said, "As our stakeholders, we will continue to have a very strong bond with you and proudly witness your successes."
Emphasizing that he was confident that the graduates would work tirelessly, patiently, and diligently to raise awareness, Rector Yülek gave the following message: “We have full confidence that, in addition to being educated and talented individuals, you will also be socially developed and highly aware of what is happening around you. Because you have been nurtured by the tradition and ethics of the Ahi brotherhood. Therefore, take on difficult tasks so that you have a story to tell. Bring goodness wherever you go, and thus create value. You are going to discover a bright and respected future and your professional career. We will continue to be your companions and friends from now on.”
“OSTİM is behind you”
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of OSTİM Technical University, drew attention to OSTİM's history spanning more than half a century, saying, "OSTİM had dreams. We are truly very happy and proud to have brought these dreams to life one by one."
Highlighting the opportunities offered to graduates by the OSTİM ecosystem, Aydın stated, “I would especially like to remind our graduating students that wherever you go, in every country in the world, the OSTİM brand will greet you in some way. Utilize OSTİM. Always feel that OSTİM is behind you. We have students here from 82 countries around the world. We have students from 70 provinces of Turkey, and OSTİM has now become a Turkish and global brand. OSTİM has operations in many parts of the world. After graduation, our students should maintain their relationships with us in every company, every city, and every country they go to. They should continue to benefit from the OSTİM ecosystem. This is not just an institution that produces graduates. We have 7 clusters operating internationally. We have a technology development zone that has established networks with many countries around the world. We have a venture capital investment fund. Within the OSTİM ecosystem, there are systems that provide answers to all the problems you can think of.”
Aydın expressed his gratitude to the OSTİM Foundation, which has been increasing its support since the establishment of OSTİM Technical University, as well as to the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, clusters, and companies.
“We are constantly cooperating”
ATO President Gürsel Baran stated that OSTİM Technical University, which set out with the mission of being the university of industry, has made significant progress in a short time and holds an important place among universities in Ankara, Turkey and the world.
Baran, noting that OSTİM Technical University has achieved significant successes in both bringing academic studies together with science and technology and in training qualified employees, said, “OSTİM Technical University has done very valuable work for both our city and our country. As ATO, we are constantly cooperating with OSTİM Technical University. We have training programs, panels, meetings, and laboratory studies. We are demonstrating a good cooperation between trade and industry as ATO and OSTİM Technical University.”
Addressing the graduates, the President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “I wholeheartedly believe that you will make significant contributions to the economy of this country in your future lives. From art to sports, from trade to industry, the future of this country will rise on your shoulders.”
Graduates donned the Ahi sash
Graduates who successfully completed their studies were presented with the Ahi sash in a ceremony attended by the managers of the Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster, OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster, OSTİM Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster, OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster, Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster, and Communication Technologies Cluster.
Students show sensitivity towards Palestine
At the graduation ceremony, students took to the stage to receive their diplomas holding banners that read, "When Palestine is free, the world will graduate too!" and "Palestine couldn't graduate any students this year, the world failed!" to draw attention to the oppression and violence in Palestine.
