A strong brand has been added to the companies operating within Ostim Technopark Technology Development Zone Management Inc., located in OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, Ankara's oldest industrial area. STM, one of Turkey's leading companies in systems engineering, technical support, project management, technology transfer, and logistics support services, has joined the OSTİM ecosystem.
STM is commencing operations in an area of approximately 2500 square meters in the Additional Area of Ostim Technopark, with the aim of producing high value-added products, meeting the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, and considering the needs of developing markets.
The lease agreement signing ceremony, held at the OSTİM Conference Hall, was attended by OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın, STM General Manager Murat İkinci, and representatives from both institutions.
Giving information about Ostim Technopark at the opening of the ceremony, General Manager Derya Çağlar stated that they have signed contracts with 14 companies so far and said, "STM joining us has added a separate strength."
A supply center serving all sectors
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın reminded that the region constitutes an important ecosystem for Ankara in terms of the defense and aerospace ecosystem. Pointing out that OSTİM played a founding role in the industrialization of the capital, Aydın said, "Ninety percent of the companies located in the 12 Organized Industrial Zones in Ankara have their starting point, incubation point, school, and training ground in OSTİM."
Aydın stated that OSTİM is an important supply center, saying, “While we are a very important production center, we are also a serious supply center. We are a serious supply center. Because our defense industry and main industries in Turkey are located right next to us, we are an important supply center that caters to all sectors. We are in a region where not only defense and aerospace companies, but also many large contracting firms, do their procurement and work. Almost all the major industrial and contracting companies whose names you know in Turkey also have a supply center in OSTİM. This place actually has an ecosystem that can build and design a city from scratch. We previously had a German-based company here. When we asked, ‘You design here, you do R&D here. Where is your production?’ they would answer, ‘My production center, my factory is OSTİM.’ All the tools and equipment in OSTİM, the companies, are my factory. I see this kind of energy in STM as well.”
Aydın, highlighting STM's engineering strength, stated the following: “Creating large structures, building infrastructure, and assembling teams and machinery is very costly. Considering the ecosystem in OSTİM, İvedik, and the surrounding area, without needing any of these, you see 15-20 thousand companies, 150 thousand employees, and so many machines and production tools. You cannot find such infrastructure anywhere else in Turkey or the world. Therefore, Mr. General Manager, all of this infrastructure is at your disposal.”

STM General Manager Murat İkinci stated that STM, as one of Turkey's leading defense companies, values industry, university, and government collaborations and has made significant investments in this area.
Stating that the company is currently one of the world's top 100 defense companies and the fourth representative from our country, İkinci said: “In order to move up this ranking even further, we are making a great effort to collaborate with industry and universities, and to create domestic solutions within the framework of the national technology initiative together with the state. I am fully confident that we will take this effort to much higher levels with the support of our companies and our university in Ostim Technopark.”
Our intention is to spread the added value here by including the entire industry, in fact, within the projects owned by STM. When I think of OSTİM, what comes to mind is that we can call it the capillaries of industry. Established in the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, Ankara's oldest industrial area, Ostim Technopark Technology Development Zone Management Inc. plans to provide access to technology through university-industry collaboration to more than 6,200 businesses operating in the region. Ostim Technopark, with a total of 9 partners, six of which are universities, comprises 3 buildings.
The Ostim Ekopark Technology Development Zone Additional Area was declared by the Council of Ministers' decision dated June 4, 2018, and published in the Official Gazette dated June 25, 2018, and numbered 30459. Located right next to the OSTİM Metro Station, the Turkuaz Building (Additional Area) offers offices ranging in size from 62 m² to 145 m². Additionally, R&D workshops ranging in size from 119 m² to 903 m² are available for rent, totaling 18,408 m².
The construction of the Orange Building, located in the Ostim Technopark Technology Development Zone, was completed in early 2019. Currently operational, the Orange Building has a total area of 9031.39 m², comprising R&D, Design, and Software Offices, and a 1600 m² Technology Production Workshop located on the ground floor.
The Ostim Technopark Bronze Building also has a 500 m² office space that can be combined and expanded. Located on the same campus as the Orange Building, space allocation and leasing in the Bronze Building began in 2019.
