With the theme 'From Sweat of the Brow to the Strings of the Heart', the choir, consisting of OSTİM employees, employers, civil society organizations, and OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone personnel, delighted music lovers with the melodies they performed under the direction of Bilal Bal.
At the concert held at the Nazım Hikmet Congress and Art Center of Yenimahalle Municipality, the surprise of the evening was a vocal group composed of managers from the OSTİM clusters. The managers of the OSTİM clusters – Construction and Industrial Machinery, Medical Industry, Defense and Aerospace Industry, Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies, Rubber Technologies, Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems, and Communication Technologies – performed Neşet Ertaş's song "B'ahça Duvarından Aştım" (I Climbed Over the Garden Wall). The audience also joined in, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Ahmet Kurt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM Industrialists and Businessmen Association (OSIAD), also sang the folk song "Tevekte Üzüm Kara" while narrating its story.
The program also paid tribute to Rahmi Reyhan, a choir member who passed away shortly before the concert. The folk song that Reyhan was going to sing was performed by his fellow choir members.
“We are incorporating sports and art into production”
Murat Kandazoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİMSPOR Club, stated that the club embarked on this journey with the idea of supporting both sports and art. Pointing to the place of sports and art in human life, Kandazoğlu said, “Scientists have shown that people who engage in art or sports are happier and make better decisions throughout their lives. As a manufacturing industrial zone, we have adopted the principle of thinking correctly and producing correctly by incorporating art and sports into this work. We have started an important project to become a large family with our employees and colleagues here. In this regard, we would like to thank our OSTİM President, Mr. Orhan Aydın, and the Board of Directors very much.”
“A program that touched our hearts”
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın thanked those who contributed to the choir's preparations and the concert. Aydın said, “We are truly together with you for a program that touches our hearts and souls, once a year. Thank you all very much for your participation. Our choir gave this concert with two members missing. I pray to God for mercy on the late Prof. Dr. Sedat Çelikdoğan and Rahmi Reyhan. May we all be able to repeat this in the coming years in good health and happiness, God willing.”
At the end of the concert, commemorative plaques were presented to those who contributed.
