As part of the 20th Turkish-Speaking Entrepreneurs Program, organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) between October 1-11, 2018 in Ankara, Edirne, Tekirdağ and Istanbul, nearly 50 entrepreneurs from 20 countries, located in the capital Ankara, discussed trade opportunities at an event hosted by OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone.

Businesspeople operating in numerous fields such as information technology, electricity, electronics, computers, cables, telecommunications, agriculture and livestock, agricultural tools and equipment, tourism, logistics, energy, construction machinery, and spare parts, held 600 business meetings with OSTİM companies.

“We are mobilizing all our resources”

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı stated that they hosted the bilateral business meetings held at the Turkish-Speaking Entrepreneurs event with great enthusiasm. Emphasizing that the program is repeated every year and is growing, Arıcı said, “We invited companies to ensure that the event turns into trade and cooperation. Our aim is to make the most of the meeting. For this, we are mobilizing all our resources.”

Providing information about OSTİM's establishment, structure, and ongoing projects, Arıcı noted: “OSTİM is a region where life continues 24/7. Because our region doesn't just have businesses. We have trade centers, schools, our university, shopping malls, social facilities, and R&D centers. With all these, we call ourselves not just an industrial zone, but an industrial city, and we define ourselves as such.”

Organized in collaboration between TOBB (Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey since 2005, this program aims to strengthen ties between our country and Turkish-speaking entrepreneurs living in neighboring countries, Central Asia, and the Balkans. To date, 750 entrepreneurs from neighboring and related communities have participated in the program.

As part of the bilateral business cooperation meetings held in Ankara during the program, Turkish-speaking entrepreneurs visited OSTİM. The entrepreneurs held bilateral business cooperation meetings with industrialists in the region, gaining the opportunity to learn about their business potential firsthand.

Entrepreneurs operating in numerous sectors, including medical, energy, business and construction machinery, information technology, agriculture, services, oil and mining, want to strengthen their ties with Turkey through collaborations.

Invitation to invest and cooperate

The visiting entrepreneurs expressed their satisfaction with the meetings in OSTİM. Representatives from the Turkic world described opportunities in their own countries, extended investment invitations, and stated their desire to strengthen trade ties with Türkiye.

Zohreh Rostami - Iran

I am from Iran. I work in our family company. Our field of activity is the production of trailers, axles and spare parts. We generally work with Turkey. We also want to find a market for our own products, and I think OSTİM can help. OSTİM had already organized companies we could meet with regarding our sector. We were very pleased.

Ulan Cholponbayev - Kyrgyzstan

We already knew about OSTİM. With this TOBB program, we had the chance to get to know it better. OSTİM is a very large industrial zone, and we believe that business can be done with every businessman here. The Kyrgyz market is open to OSTİM businessmen. They can do business in any field. Legally, there is no difference between Turkish and Kyrgyz businessmen! Our country has sufficient opportunities for businessmen; we have Organized Industrial Zones. Let them come and do business.

Eldar Akimov - Ukraine

I am pleased to participate in such a meeting. We thank TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) for organizing the program. OSTİM started as a cooperative and has surpassed itself, transforming into a large organization. It offers all kinds of services. I think it is an example of success. We can support OSTİM businesspeople in introducing them to the Ukrainian market, and we can host them. We can assist them in following fairs, visits, and other socio-economic events. We are open to all kinds of cooperation.

Nourchan Moustafa Nichat - Greece

I have a furniture company that's been around for about 40 years. For 31 years, I've been buying furniture from my homeland, Turkey. The 20th Turkish-Speaking Entrepreneurs Program is very well thought out. It's important that it's held every year. I am very proud to be in Turkey and to be with my valuable brothers and sisters.
