Akdarya Mayor Abilov Feruz Nematullayevich, accompanied by public officials and businessmen, visited OSTİM. After receiving information about cooperation opportunities, the Mayor stated that they would like to have an industrial zone like OSTİM in their own city as well.

Within this context, a framework protocol of cooperation and goodwill was signed between OSTİM and Akdarya Municipality regarding the development and operation of the Organized Industrial Zones planned to be established in Uzbekistan.

Sister city proposal

OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın said, "We will begin a fruitful collaboration with the Mayor of Akdarya district in Samarkand, our sister country."

Aydın made the following remarks regarding the cooperation protocol: “This protocol only defines our intentions and goals. But filling it with content depends on the efforts of both sides. In this sense, we will do our best. We will continue to increase this effort, especially with our OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster. We will also take this cooperation to other dimensions.”

Orhan Aydın, highlighting the importance of Akdarya becoming a sister city with a district in Turkey, suggested to Akdarya Mayor Abilov Feruz Nematullayevich that they establish a sister city relationship with Çamlıdere district of Ankara: “Çamlıdere has the tomb of Sheikh Ali Semerkandi. He came from Samarkand, enlightened these lands, and became a light for the people here. He chose Çamlıdere as his resting place and is buried there. Many people from Ankara and Turkey visit that place.”

“We would be very happy if an industrial zone like OSTİM were to be established”

Akdarya Mayor Abilov Feruz Nematullayevich thanked the OSTİM management for their interest and hospitality. The visiting mayor stated, “As the Mayor of Akdarya, we are ready to provide all the assistance that is expected of us. Uzbekistan is always open to all investors. We support relations between the two countries and are very pleased with this. We would be very happy and pleased if an industrial zone like OSTİM were to be established.”

“Turks and Uzbeks have always been brotherly nations”

Expressing his great pleasure at the sister city proposal with Çamlıdere, Abilov Feruz Nematullayevich said, “We would very much like our city to become a sister city with a city in Turkey. It is clear from history that Turks and Uzbeks have always been brotherly nations. We know that the tomb of Sheikh Ali Semerkandi is located in Çamlıdere. We are proud, honored, and dignified by this. I, personally, and our government are always ready to do everything in our power to strengthen these relations.”
