State Supply Office (DMO) General Manager Tufan Büyükuzun stated, "We want to increase the share of domestic products."

DMO General Manager Tufan Büyükuzun, Deputy General Manager Şeref Çolak, Head of Procurement Department No. 1 Fikret Karaca, Head of Procurement Department No. 2 M. Fatih Yavaşın, and experts met with members of the OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster and the Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster (İŞİM) and were informed about the cluster activities and OSTİM.

DMO, which ensures the procurement of goods and services needed by public institutions and organizations while prioritizing public benefit, plans to increase the number of SMEs and domestic product suppliers in the system in line with its strategic plan.

Providing information about DMO's operations, General Manager Büyükuzun stated that they can meet the needs of public institutions in one day with the e-sales system they have created, and conveyed his view that "We want to increase the share of domestic products in public procurement, specifically at DMO."

Büyükuzun emphasized that the sales systems are open to all manufacturers and advised cluster companies to also participate in the e-sales portal. Stating that the government is ready to share information and experience, the DMO General Manager conveyed that they support clustering.

“Aim to create world-class brands”

Explaining the contribution of brand building to national income, Büyükuzun pointed out that significant brands have emerged from South Korea, and the country's per capita national income is close to $30,000. The experienced bureaucrat advised the cluster members, “Aim to create world-class brands from here.”

Büyükuzun stated that they wanted to include domestically produced equivalents of imported construction machinery and medical products in the DMO sales system, saying, “In 2014, we furnished 29 hospitals. Form a working team, and we will explain to your members how to get their products into our catalogs. Let's identify imported products that can be produced domestically.”
