The Communication Technologies Cluster (HTK), the national team of the electronic communications sector, held its 3rd Ordinary General Assembly at the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Conference Hall.

The General Assembly was attended by OSTİM OSB Board Chairman Orhan Aydın, Information Technologies and Communications Authority Deputy Chairman Beytullah Kuşçu, Aselsan Deputy General Manager Mustafa Yaman, and TÜBİTAK TEYDEP President Mehmet Aslan.

HTK plays an important role in gaining share of the global market.

Mustafa Yaman, Deputy General Manager of Aselsan and Board Member of Ulak, emphasized the development of the electronic communications sector. Yaman stated, “The important thing is to increase our share in the sector and expand abroad. The field of communication technologies will continue to grow day by day. I believe HTK plays a significant role in gaining a substantial share of the global market.”

Without a cluster, the field is left empty.

OSTİM OSB Board Chairman Orhan Aydın expressed his pleasure at hosting HTK. He stated that, building on the localization efforts undertaken in the defense sector, they are now implementing similar efforts in the rail systems sector. Aydın reminded the audience that the 51% domestic content requirement has created a paradigm shift in Türkiye, enabling the country to produce all rail system vehicles, including high-speed trains.

Aydın stated that with the inclusion of a domestic requirement in the 4.5G tender in the communications sector, they have also begun their struggle with HTK members in this electronic communications sector, adding, "Without this cluster, the field is left empty. Communications is as important as the defense industry. It is crucial for our future and our independence."

“Apply for the $175 million fund”

Highlighting the End-to-End Domestic and National 5G Project carried out by HTK, TÜBİTAK TEYDEP President Mehmet Aslan said, "The start we have made for the 5G project will bring about important developments in the future."

Aslan explained that TEYDEP has prepared three calls for proposals related to the green fund, stating, “Trust in your project and apply to our calls covering mentoring for SMEs, commercialization, and consortiums. Try to get your share of this pie. Trust in your project and apply. Apply confidently and strongly and try to get your share of this pie. The total fund is $175 million, but it can be increased if there is demand.”

“We must follow up on the national communications product requirement together with sector representatives”

Deputy Chairman Beytullah Kuşçu stated that a board decision had been made regarding the national communications product. Kuşçu said, “Work is ongoing to introduce an obligation to use a national communications product for critical products to be determined in the 5G tender. We have defined that the design, sale, ownership rights, and all rights of the product must belong to companies in Turkey. We need to follow this up with our sector representatives. As BTK, we have always supported the HTK (High-Level Communications Commission) and will continue to do so.”

Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Board of Directors, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Assembly. HTK Coordinator Durali Çiçek presented the activity report for the 2021-2023 period. HTK Audit Committee Chairman Gürkan Balasar read the audit committee report, and HTK Disciplinary Committee Member Faysal Başçı read the disciplinary committee report.

The income and expenditure accounts and reports were unanimously approved after deliberation.

In the election held to determine the new term's management, audit, and disciplinary board members, the current management board was re-elected, receiving a vote of confidence.

According to the election results, the HTK Board of Directors consists of the following companies: Ulak, i2i Systems, Nart Bilişim, Ankara Netmon, TTG, Yongatek, and Telenity.

ODTÜ Teknokent, OSTİM OSB and Bulut Bilişim were elected to the Supervisory Board, while Olar CBS, Labris and Mescioğlu were elected to the Disciplinary Board.
