During his visit to Turkey in June, Almambet Shykmamatov, Minister of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic, visited OSTİM and stated that he would work to present the regional model to the Kyrgyz Parliament.
Within the scope of the program, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic and OSTİM regarding the implementation of the OSTİM model in the country.
As part of the work initiated in Kyrgyzstan, a working group was established to develop the Draft Law on Industrial and Production Zones.
The working group held its first online meeting with OSTİM. OSTİM Chairman of the Board Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı, and OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Foreign Trade Specialist Esma Akyüz participated in the meeting.
A model example of development through industry
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı provided information about OSTİM's establishment and development processes. Highlighting that OSTİM was established and developed without state support, Arıcı stated, "We are an exemplary model in the industrial development of a region or a city."
Arıcı, recalling that they have cooperated with many countries in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia regarding the transfer of the OSTİM model, said that they are ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan on sharing the OSTİM model as well.
“We are the army of development”
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they share their knowledge and experience with countries seeking development and requesting cooperation.
Expressing his satisfaction with cooperating with Kyrgyzstan, Aydın stated, “We are a voluntary development army in the effort to make the world a more livable place. Production, selling this production to the world, and mutual trade are things we also desire.”
The working group, which includes representatives from public and civil society organizations, consists of the following institutions: Ministry of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development, Ministry of Digital Development, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Education and Science, State Agency for Architecture, Construction and Housing and Public Services, National Alliance of Business Associations, Agricultural Industry Committee, Turkish-Kyrgyz Cultural, Solidarity and Friendship Entrepreneurs Association, International Business Council, and Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Council.
