The OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Consultation Meeting, organized by the Ankara City Council, was held in the OSTİM OSB Conference Hall.
At the meeting, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Yenimahalle Municipality Mayor Fethi Yaşar, and Ankara City Council President Halil İbrahim Yılmaz met with industrialists, academics, and representatives of civil society organizations from OSTİM.
“We cannot achieve success unless local governments stand by us.”
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Orhan Aydın expressed his pleasure at hosting the mayors. Stating that they partially provide local government services in OSTİM, Aydın said, “We are constantly interacting with our municipalities. We receive services to our region from both Yenimahalle Municipality and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. This is very valuable for us.”
Aydın stated that production, employment, and exports are realized in OSTİM, adding, “We create added value for our country and pay taxes. We believe that we contribute to the development of our country and region. With the establishment of OSTİM, Ankara's industrialization process began. Due to the location of institutions such as Aselsan, TUSAŞ, and FNSS in Ankara, a serious high-quality industrial ecosystem has been formed in Ankara. Very high-quality products that Turkey needs are produced in our region.”
Referring to the contribution of local governments to the production carried out in OSTİM, President Aydın stated, “If local governments do not stand by us, if they do not participate in this race with us, this success cannot be achieved. Therefore, our requests from both Yenimahalle Municipality and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality are largely met. On behalf of the industrialists of OSTİM, I sincerely thank both the Mayor of Yenimahalle Municipality and the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for the services they have provided so far, for their interest and attention, and for their approach to production and industry.”
Yenimahalle Mayor Fethi Yaşar emphasized that the vast majority of Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) in Ankara originated from OSTİM, which he described as a benefit for Ankara. Yaşar conveyed the message that they are striving to ensure OSTİM produces more and provides more employment, thus contributing even more to Ankara.
“Supporting the business people of OSTİM is our duty”
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş explained that they have signed cooperation protocols with Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs). Yavaş said, “We continue to support all OSBs. We provide support for whatever is requested from us. We work in cooperation. We have a career center. There are nearly 300,000 resumes. These are accessible to industrialists. You can invite any personnel you want.”
Sharing his thoughts on OSTİM, Yavaş stated, “OSTİM Technical University is a good example. The business people of OSTİM are productive people, and both individually and corporately, they are truly the pride of Ankara and our country. It is our duty to support them.”
Mayor Yavaş shared his 5-year work program and completed activities with the industrialists.
