The efforts to establish a Kyrgyz-Turkish joint industrial zone in the sister country Kyrgyzstan were accelerated with the support of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadır Caparov. The country wants to implement the industrial zone with the OSTIM model. The Minister of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Almanbet Shykmamatov, stated that he will prepare the necessary procedures for the implementation of the OSTİM model and present it to the parliament and that the procedures will be available after the legal process is passed.
The Minister of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Almanbet Shykmamatov, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov, Elvira Borombaeva, Co-Chair of the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Business Council Temirlan Sarlykbek Uulu and the accompanying delegation, who came to Ankara as part of official visits, conducted examinations at OSTİM.
OSTİM Chairman of the Board Orhan Aydın and OSTİM OIZ Regional Director Adem Arıcı familiarized the Kyrgyz Minister and the accompanying delegation with the region and gave information about the protocols on the transfer of the OSTİM model, which were previously signed with various institutions and organizations of Kyrgyzstan.
Regional Director Adem Arici told the Kyrgyz delegation about OSTİM's administrative structure and management processes.
“We can transfer 50 years of experience and knowledge”
OSTİM Chairman of the Board Orhan Aydın reminded that they are working with many countries in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia on the transfer of the OSTİM model. Aydın emphasized that they have prepared projects and conveyed their experiences to the countries requesting the OSTİM model within the scope of the studies.
Noting that an industrial zone was established in Khartoum, Sudan, with the knowledge of OSTİM, Aydın said, “We prepared a project together with the University of Khartoum. An industrial zone was established here. We have also contributed to the establishment of that zone. We conveyed our project and information regarding the construction of an area named OSTİM Industrial Zone in the capital of Tunisia."
Noting that their interest in the region has increased again, especially in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bukhara, and Samarkand, Orhan Aydın gave a message: “OSTİM Technical University signed a protocol in Azerbaijan. Our university is also ready to cooperate with Manas University in the scientific field. If you are on the way to creating an organized industrial zone, we can convey our 50 years of experience and knowledge to you. If we apply the OSTIM model there, Kyrgyzstan will be number one in the region."
OSTIM model on its way to the Parliament
Almanbet Shykmamatov, Minister of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, said that they have all the necessary opportunities to establish a Kyrgyz-Turkish joint industrial zone. He added: "Our President has been giving the message that we will strengthen our relations with Turkey from his very first statements."
Expressing that they want to apply the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and OSTİM model in the economy and production processes of his country, the Kyrgyz Minister said: “I will prepare the necessary procedures for the implementation of the OSTİM model and present it to the parliament. After it passes the legal process, the work will be done. The OSTIM model is a very powerful and beautiful model; it is a good opportunity for industrialists to develop. We also accept it as a model that will strengthen and develop the economy of Kyrgyzstan. We are ready to develop the OSTIM model in the city of Karabalta, near Bishkek, close to international highways and railways. This region is located 50 km from Kazakhstan.”

Almanbet Shykmamatov, who called for Turkish industrialists and investors, expressed: “We will be very pleased that industrialists from Ostim in Turkey will come to Kyrgyzstan. As the State of Kyrgyzstan, we are ready to provide both legal and business conditions in accordance with the legal infrastructure, constitution, and all our laws. We will be very happy to see our industrialist brothers from Turkey in the Kyrgyz market.”
Minister Almanbet Shykmamatov received information about the production and export network of OSTİM Kalıp A.Ş and Günhan Aluminum companies, which started production within the framework of the OSTİM program.
