HTK, together with leading Turkish telecommunications and software companies, conducted a comprehensive sectoral trade delegation program in Uzbekistan between May 18-23, with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Trade. The program, which covered Samarkand and Tashkent, saw HTK participate strongly in the GSMA M360 Eurasia event and, within the framework of the global technology summit, organized the Turkey-Eurasia Telecommunications Leaders Forum to strengthen ties in the Eurasian region, particularly with Turkic states.
The Forum, organized by HTK, was also attended by Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), and Tarık Sönmez, Director General of International Service Trade at the Ministry of Trade.
Digital silk roads are being built.
The President of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, drew attention to Uzbekistan's Digital Uzbekistan 2030 strategy, emphasizing that Uzbekistan has become one of the digital hubs of Central Asia.
Karagözoğlu stated that the "Turkey-Eurasia Digital Bridge" approach is not limited to communication networks alone, and conveyed the message that, "Today, ancient trade routes are being replaced by high-speed fiber optic lines, 5G architectures, and cross-border data networks; we are building digital silk roads at the heart of the historical Silk Road."
Karagözoğlu pointed out that the electronic communications sector is one of the fundamental elements of digital transformation, adding that strong communication infrastructures accelerate economic growth and increase the competitiveness of countries.
Karagözoğlu stated that HTK, established in 2017 with the support of BTK (Information and Communication Technologies Authority), brings together more than 160 manufacturing companies, emphasizing that thanks to the clustering model, Turkish companies conduct their R&D processes more efficiently and become more competitive in international markets.
