First Aid (Approved By The Ministry Of Health) Trainings

First aid training is included in the scope of compulsory training with the legal regulations and can only be done by people who have a certificate approved by the Ministry of Health.

( Law No. 6331 Art. 11 / 1 and First Aid Regulation Articles 16 and 29 )

 

How Many First Aids Should There Be?

a) In less hazardous workplaces, 1 for every 20 employees,
b) 1 for every 15 employees in dangerous workplaces,
c) In very dangerous workplaces, up to every 10 employees

WHAT IS FIRST AID

 

In an accident or life-threatening situation, it is the drug-free applications made with the available tools and equipment at the scene, without looking for medical equipment, in order to save life or prevent the situation from getting worse, until the help of health officials is provided.

 

What Are the Primary Objectives of First Aid?
• To eliminate life-threatening danger,
• To ensure the continuation of vital functions,
• To prevent the worsening of the injured person's condition,
• Facilitate recovery.

What are the Basic Applications of First Aid?
Basic applications of first aid; It is referred to as Protection, Notification, Recovery (KBK).

Protection: It covers the evaluation of the crime scene in order to prevent the aggravation of the accident results. The most important process is to create a safe environment by determining the dangers that may occur at the scene.
Notification: Incident/accident should be reported to the necessary aid organizations as quickly as possible through communication tools or other persons present at the accident site. In any situation requiring first aid in Turkey, telephone communications are made via the 112 emergency telephone number.
Rescue (response): Responding to patients/injured at the scene should be done quickly but calmly.

 

FIRST AID CERTIFICATE AND EXAM

 

The first aider certificate training program is organized by the institutions authorized by the Ministry of Health to provide first aid training and to organize a first aider certificate program. The certificate is given to people who have participated in the Ministry of Health certified First Aid training program and are successful at the end of the course. At the end of the course, a two-stage exam, both theoretical and practical, is conducted by the Ministry of Health officials. Participants who score 85 and above in the theoretical exam take the practical exam on the same day.

 

A first aider certificate and a first aider identification document are issued by the Provincial Health Directorate to those who score 85 out of 100 in both exams. Participants are entitled to two exams. Those who fail in both exams are issued a certificate of attendance instead of a certificate, as per the regulations. In Ankara, the exam is held at the Ankara Provincial Health Directorate on weekends.

 

The certificates of the persons/institutions who have received training from the First Aid Training Center are valid for three years and a reminder is made before this period expires. The validity period of first aider certificates and first aider identification document is three years. At the end of this period, an update training is given according to the results of the evaluation exam. Update trainings are arranged to be half of the training periods specified in the certificate.

FIRST AID REGULATION
First aid and compulsory first aid employment

Article 16 - ( Change: 18.03.2004 -25406 OG ) One for every twenty personnel employed in all institutions and organizations, one for every ten personnel in workplaces covered by heavy and dangerous works according to the relevant legislation, from the center authorized in accordance with this regulation. It is obligatory to have a "First Aid" with at least "Basic First Aid Training" certificate.

Article 29 - Sanctions stipulated in this Regulation are applied to those who do not comply with the procedures and principles set forth in this Regulation and to those who violate the prohibitions. These are subject to general provisions in terms of criminal and legal responsibilities. Institutions and organizations that do not have a first aider are treated in accordance with the provision of Article 295 of the General Health Law No. 1593.

Duties, Authorities and Obligations of the Employer and the Employees

ARTICLE 11 – (1) The employer;

c) Considering the size of the workplace and the special hazards it carries, the nature of the work performed, the number of employees and other persons in the workplace in order to combat emergencies; It assigns a sufficient number of people who are appropriately equipped and trained in prevention, protection, evacuation, fire fighting, first aid and similar issues, provides the tools and materials, makes the training and drills and ensures that the teams are always ready.

ç) Makes the necessary arrangements to ensure communication with organizations outside the workplace, especially in the fields of first aid, emergency medical intervention, rescue and fire fighting.

d) An administrative fine of one thousand seventy-eight Turkish Liras for each non-complied obligation and the same amount of (1,078.-TL) for each month in which the violation continues.
