CYLINDER HONING

Polek brand honing bench is used in the honing section. The honing process is applied to the cylinder, which is rectified to a different size or whose liner is opened, so that it is finally brought to its standard size.

While honing, suitable cutting fluid, sunnen brand honing stones and honing brushes are used to obtain the desired roughness values on the cylinder surfaces.

In the market, after the cylinder is honed, the surface quality is tried to be increased with sandpaper. Since this application will reduce the depth of the honing lines, it adversely affects the oil holding properties and roughness values of the cylinder surfaces. This reduces engine life and performance. Thanks to the honing brushes we use, we achieve plateau honing and obtain the most suitable surface quality. In addition, this application accelerates the engine break-in time.
